Q & A
|
Q. I feel more comfortable working with one of the nationally-known full service brokers. Why should I move my investment accounts to you?
A. If you are looking for a financial planner that will provide unbiased quality advice, unequalled support, almost certainly lower fees (than the national full service broker), and expertise associated with a focus on Dentists and Physicians, you should be working with Doctorwealth.com LLC SM.
Q. What if the market sells-off (goes down) like it did in 2000-2003?
A. We will consult with you to keep you focused on the long term and not to panic when markets contract – as they always have and always will. Many investors that lost large percentages of their portfolio during this period were not adequately diversified. They learned a hard lesson that you will not have to learn.
Q. What if the market rallies (goes up) like it did in 2003-2004?
A. We will keep you focused so that greed does not dictate your asset contributions. We will consult your Investment Policy Statement for reference to ensure we are continuing to stay within your risk tolerance window and invest to meet your goals.
Q. How often will we meet?
A. The frequency and manner with which client meetings are held will depend upon client needs. Many clients find it convenient to meet in person once per year and over the phone three times per year. Contrary to what you may think, the purpose of regular meetings is not primarily to review the latest quarterly statement. These meetings are primarily used to stay in close contact with you and ensure your needs and situation have not changed. In this manner we are proactive at addressing your needs.
Q. Are there other costs associated with working with you?
A. We work with Ameritrade advisor services. Ameritrade is a discount Broker-Dealer that offers some of the lowest charges on buying, holding & selling securities. Ameritrade will charge very modest fees for transactions on the account – much smaller than a full service brokerage. These charges are applied directly to the account. Any profit sharing or 401(K) plan will have fees charged by the plan provider and third party administrator.
Q. Where are the accounts held?
A. Ameritrade acts as custodian on the accounts and holds the assets.
Q. How are your fees collected?
A. Our financial planning fees are charged based on an estimate provided prior to our commencing the work. Asset management fees are charged quarterly in advance and are deducted from your account directly via the custodian Broker –Dealer Ameritrade.
